It’s safe to say that 2020 has kept us indoors a lot more than we’d have expected to be. And while there’s been definite benefits from slowing down, we can’t blame you for craving an injection of fun sought elsewhere.

It’s October, outdoor markets aren’t on Autumn’s agenda, right? Wrong. Derby Market Place are continuing to bring the summer vibes with their Autumn Sessions. If you’re looking for a chilled out afternoon or evening, then this is it.

Much on delicious street food, al fresco style while being entertained by a whole host of performers, from Caribbean dancers to local bands.

Don’t panic, you can do all this in time for the 10pm curfew and catch the last train home!

Stretch those legs

Fancy heading away from the city? Why not grab your walking boots and set off to discover the incredible landscapes we have on our doorstep?

Wander through the chocolate box village of Cromford which really does look good enough to eat. Take in the Autumn colours by meandering down the canal and head down the High Peak Trail and catch up amongst stunning scenery. Why not pack a picnic and fuel-up before taking on the climb up to the unique Black Rocks - a weathered outcrop of Ashover grit - and take in the stunning views over the peaks.
