Disruption on our Matlock-Derby route due to flooding

What has happened?

Heavy rain flooded the railway at Breadsall on Friday 8th November between Derby and Chesterfield disrupting our trains on the London St Pancras / Nottingham / Sheffield and Matlock / Derby / Nottingham routes.

A test train has been over the track between Derby and Matlock and it is safe to run trains, however due to the flooding in the local areas, the stations and car parks will be checked overnight to ascertain whether it is safe for customers.

How does this affect my train?

Nottingham/ Derby/ Matlock route

Our train service is able to run between Nottingham and Derby where they will terminate. Train services are not able to run between Derby and Matlock


How do I get where I need to be?


Matlock route

Our trains between Matlock / Derby / Newark Castle will operate between Derby and Newark Castle.

Due to road conditions in the area, road transport is not possible on the Matlock / Derby / Nottingham route.

If you were intending to travel between Derby and Matlock then we advise you DO NOT TRAVEL.
