Easter Services likely to be extremely busy due to engineering work on the West Coast Mainline

EMR Intercity and Connect route services to and from London St Pancras are extremely busy over the Easter weekend, from Friday 29 March to Monday 1 April.

Network Rail are carrying out essential route improvement work on the West Coast Mainline over the Easter weekend, with no trains able to run between Milton Keynes and London Euston. You can learn more about the work Network Rail are doing here . Many customers who would usually travel to/from London Euston are likely to travel on EMR services to/from London St Pancras to complete their journeys and services will be busier than usual.

If you bought your ticket through the East Midlands Railway website, but were planning to travel on West Coast Mainline services to or from London Euston, you can find out more information about how your journey will be impacted by the works and what your operator's alternative arrangements are below. Please note, affected operators are strongly recommending that customers travel either side of the Easter Weekend instead:

If you're travelling to or from London St Pancras over the Easter weekend, we strongly recommend you allow extra time for your journey at the station. Queuing systems will be in place and we'd encourage you to consider travelling at an alternative time.

Our Station and On Train colleagues will do all they can to support our customers, but we do anticipate services will be extremely busy and queuing systems will need to be in place throughout the weekend.

We are running as many carriages as possible to ensure a comfortable travel experience for our customers. However, we anticipate that some of our services may be busier than usual due to customers with flexible tickets choosing to travel via EMR instead of the planned alternative. This could be because our services may offer a quicker or more direct route.
