Welcome to East Midlands Railway
Connecting people and places across the Midlands and through to London
Abellio is pleased and proud to be the operator of EMR. It’s our vision to drive the East Midlands towards a brighter future, working in partnership to connect cities, support communities and create easier journeys for everyone.
Over the coming years, we are investing £600 million bringing customer improvements to our services, trains and stations. In the future this means we’ll be bringing you more seats, more comfort, more often.
New trains and more services
As part of this investment, we’re improving our trains and introducing a new intercity fleet, as well as refurbishing two new, faster and more modern regional fleets – with free WiFi and power sockets to enhance your journey. Plus, there will be more services later in the evening, at weekends and on local and long-distance routes.
Simplifying the journey
To make your journey to the station even more comfortable, we’re adding 1,000 new car parking spaces and 1,050 cycle spaces. Every station will have a ticket vending machine to make buying tickets easier, too. Plus, we’re upgrading waiting areas, cafes and shops at multiple stations across our network.
Keeping you in the loop
To keep you up-to-date, we’re investing in a new website, mobile app and ticket buying facilities. We’re also encouraging Smartcard use – helping to reduce paper waste and streamline your travel experience.
This is an exciting opportunity for everyone at East Midlands Railway and we can’t wait to start putting our ideas and improvements into action.
