Wherever possible our engineering work is planned in advance, generally for weekends or public holidays. When planned engineering works are going to affect our routes we will provide information here.

East Midlands Railway are advising customers to only travel on if their journey is essential on Intercity Services between Sheffield / Derby / Nottingham and London St Pancras on Saturday 28 November and Sunday 29 November due to essential Engineering Works taking place as part of the East Coast Digital Programme.

As a result, there will be no direct LNER trains to or from London King’s Cross on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 November. Whilst this engineering work does not directly affect EMR services, it is likely that more customers than usual will use EMR services to travel to/from London.

If you are traveling between the North and London, you are strongly advised to use LNER services to and from Peterborough and apply a search filter to specify travel via Peterborough on Journey Planners . Please avoid travelling via Sheffield, Derby or Chesterfield if possible, due to extremely high customer numbers on this route.
