Things to know
- Family Saver is sold as single meaning you'll need to add a return journey if required
- Only valid on the train you book
- A minimum of two people and a maximum of six can travel on a Family Saver ticket - this must include one adult and one child, but no more than two adults and four children. Please specify the number of adults and children when purchasing your tickets
- Children under 5 travel free and do not need including in the Family Saver ticket
- Family Advance tickets are non-refundable (unless a delay or cancellation means you choose not to travel)
- No break of journey allowed, stay on the train you book

Family Saver FAQ's
Our Family Saver is available for a limited time. Tickets will be available to purchase from 14th June to 5th September for travel from 10th July until 6th September 2026.
EMR Intercity seat reservations are currently unavailable on services from 1 April 2026 while we transition to our new Aurora fleet. Wheelchair and bicycle reservations can still be made in the usual way.
The Family Saver will be available for selected routes, see the table below. Tickets are subject to availability.

Tickets are subject to availability and must be booked at least 1 day in advance. Reservations can currently be made up to 12 weeks ahead. You won't be able to book on the day online or at a ticket office.
To find the Family Saver make sure add the amount of adults and children between the ages of 5-15, children under 5 can travel for free, select your date and journey and you'll see "Family Saver Single" as the ticket type.
The number of passengers travelling must exactly match the group size shown on the ticket. Each Family Saver ticket is valid only for the specific combination of adults and children listed.
If the train you purchased a ticket for is cancelled or is delayed and you still decide to travel, special arrangements will be made to accommodate you on another train (although a seat cannot be guaranteed). If you choose not to travel, you may apply for a refund on completely unused tickets and you will not be charged an administration fee.
Family Saver tickets are valid only on the date and train shown on the ticket or for the journey you booked.

Family Saver tickets are valid only on the date and train shown on the ticket and are non-refundable.
Customers are eligible for delay repay compensation if they reach their destination more than 15 minutes later than scheduled. You can find information on Delay Repay here. If you choose not to travel at the last minute in the event of train delays or cancellations, you should claim a refund from the place of purchase.
Unfortunately, Railcard discounts will not be valid alongside this promotion.
Terms and Conditions for Family Saver
- Non‑changeable and non‑refundable - All products are sold on a strictly non‑changeable, non‑refundable basis.
- Standard Class only - These fares are available exclusively in Standard Class.
- No break of journey - Passengers must travel directly; break of journey is not permitted.
- Valid only on the booked service - Travel is restricted to the specific train service shown on the ticket.
- No additional discounts - Child fares, railcards, and all other concessions cannot be applied.
- Advance booking - Tickets are subject to availability and must be booked at least 1 day in advance. Reservations can currently be made up to 12 weeks ahead.
- Single‑ticket format - All fare types will be issued as single tickets and will require mandatory reservations.
