Lincoln Christmas Market
Lincoln Christmas Market
Thursday 2nd to Sunday 5th December 2021
Castle Hill, Lincoln LN2 1PZ
Be aware a significantly reduced timetable will be in place across the East Midlands Railway network on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th December. EMR urges customers to make alternative travel arrangements to visit Lincoln Christmas Market.
Although the RMT have now suspended their strike action, the extremely short notice provided means EMR will still be operating a reduced timetable.
The strike was timed to coincide with Lincoln Christmas Market as well as a number of major football matches.
As such, EMR Regional, EMR Intercity and EMR Connect services will all be significantly reduced.
We have done everything we can to prioritise services to and from Lincoln. However, it is clear this level of service will not be sufficient to provide adequate capacity for the thousands of customers expected to travel to Lincoln over the weekend and therefore we're urging visitors to use alternative methods and not travel with East Midlands Railway. This is particularly acute for services between Nottingham and Lincoln.
We will not run trains on this route on Friday 3rd or Saturday 4th December. Replacement Coaches will run in place of trains.
Saturday 4th December Timetable
You will also be able to use your ticket on Northern services between Lincoln and Doncaster (via Sheffield) and LNER services between Peterborough and Lincoln and between Retford and Doncaster.
How to get there
Lincoln Railway Station is a short 15-20 minute walk from the Christmas Market site on Castle Hill. Directions can be found here.
We are providing a significant amount of additional seating capacity on most routes to and from Lincoln throughout the event.
A queuing system will be in place at Lincoln station due to the high number of passengers expected to travel across the weekend. We recommend arriving at the station 30 minutes before your train is due to depart. You will be asked to wait at the station front until your train is ready for boarding, and a member of the station team will guide you to your platform.
