Sheffield train station information

Sheffield Train Station is located at the bottom of a hill to the east of the city centre and has a rich history dating back to 1870, when the city was known for producing high-quality steel and cutlery. Today, the city boasts two major universities, excellent sports facilities, as well as being in a stunning location on the edge of the Peak District.

Although Sheffield train station has undergone significant expansion, stunning remnants of the original station can still be seen between platforms two and five. The elegant stone façade, added in 1905 also remains, adding to the station's charm. Sheaf Square, a vast plaza with a cascading fountain and steel sculpture, overlooks the station and pays homage to Sheffield's rivers and metalworking heritage.

Enjoy refreshments at cafes located on the train platforms, including a Starbucks on platform 5, before heading on your journey with EMR.
