It is our vision to drive the East Midlands towards a brighter future, working in partnership to connect cities, support communities and create easier journeys for everyone.
Over the coming years, we are investing £600 million bringing customer improvements to our services, trains and stations. In the future this means we will be bringing you more seats, more comfort, more often.
More seats for you
Over the coming months we’re adding extra carriages on our regional routes bringing over 37,000 more seats for you. Adding an additional carriage on over 500 of our regional services is the first step in delivering better journeys.
Over the coming years further improvements to our regional services will bring you:
- Newly refurbished trains
- Extended routes
- Better connections across the region and through to London.
New trains, more services and faster journeys
As part of our investment, we’re improving all of our trains and introducing a brand new, more environmentally friendly Intercity fleet. Journey times will be quicker to and from London and there will be more services later in the evening, at weekends and on local and long-distance routes.
Simplifying the journey
To make your journey to the station even more comfortable, we’re adding 1,000 new car parking spaces and 1,050 cycle spaces. We continue to invest in ticket buying facilities and technology to support Smartcard use – helping to reduce paper waste and streamline your travel experience. Plus, we’re upgrading waiting areas, cafes and shops at multiple stations across our network.
