Like the rest of the country, our colleagues have been affected by the increasing rate of Covid infections and as a result we are not currently able to add additional services into our timetable.

However, we are already running well over 90% of our normal (pre-Covid) timetable and the number of passengers travelling with us significantly lower than normal so we would expect all passengers to be able to travel comfortably.

We are also working with our local Universities to identify any likely peak times and days for travel and we can take measures to protect those vital services.

Yes. but please check ahead and plan your journey as our services stop running slightly earlier than normal on Christmas Eve.

No. EMR, like the vast majority of public transport operators, do not provide a Christmas Day or Boxing Day service.

We will reintroduce services on Sunday 27th December but you are advised to check your journey in advance as there may be changes to our normal timetable.

We understand you will want to bring home presents, personal belongings (and maybe even some washing) but please make sure you only bring what you can safely carry yourself. Our colleagues priority is to keep passengers safe and trains running on time and therefore will not be able to help carry luggage for you. Also, please be mindful of the space your luggage will take on the train and consider how you can safely store it.

We ask all passengers to keep a safe distance from each other and avoid sitting next to one another. If you are sitting on a table, please sit diagonally opposite. We also ask you to avoid sitting in aisle seats to keep a distance from other passengers and our colleagues passing through the train.

Remember: you must wear a face covering throughout your journey.

Onboard refreshments are only currently available to First Class customers on our Intercity services. Please note, this is a reduced catering offer comprised of a pre-packed bag which is designed to limit the contact between our colleagues and customers.
