Yes, but please check ahead and plan your journey as our services stop running earlier than normal on Christmas Eve.

No. EMR, like the vast majority of public transport operators, do not provide a Christmas Day or Boxing Day service.

If the ticket office is closed, tickets can be purchased from the ticket machine, on the EMR app or on our website. If there is no ticket machine available, most tickets can be purchased on the train.

If the station you are travelling from has a ticket machine, you must purchase a ticket before travelling to avoid being issued with a Penalty Fare.

Please make sure you only bring what you can safely carry yourself. Our staff's priority is to keep passengers safe and to ensure trains are running on time and therefore will not be able to help carry luggage for you. Also, please be mindful of the space your luggage will take on the train and consider how you can safely store it.

Around Christmas, we see an increase in lost property left on our trains. You can report lost and found here. Please bear in mind, we can only support lost property left on EMR services, or at EMR stations. If you've travelled with another operator, you may need to contact them in the first instance to begin understanding where your items may have ended up.

Yes, you can book assisted travel. We strongly recommend booking your assisted travel in advance as we usually see more requests this time of year. You can find ways to book your assisted travel here.
